November To-Do: 5 Things I’m Doing More of This Month

November already? This year is seeming to alternately fly-by, yet also move at a snail’s pace. I’m so focused on each day, each moment, each interaction that it seems to slow down time. The days are stacking up at a pace that I can’t even believe. The holidays are almost here.

Today, five things I’m looking forward to doing more of this month:

Playing with S.

I’ve noticed that my girl asks me more and more to play with her. I get so busy with the ‘work’ of home – cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc. that I rarely stop to play. I know these days are short-lived that she will even want to play with momma, so I’m going to slow down and play all I can.

Spending time outdoors.

With fall finally in Texas, I’m enjoying the slightly cooler weather. Funny how 92 seems ‘cool’ when you’ve acclimated to the scorching summers we endure. I have been enjoying coffee outdoors a few mornings a week, and it’s such a great way to start my day, connected to nature. We have a creek that runs behind our house, so seeing all the creatures that inhabit that, along with the overgrowth of greenery makes me feel in-tune with the earth and sets my mood for the day.

Self-care.

I’ve been reading + learning more about yoga, meditation, journaling, crystals, tarot cards…all in the quest of connecting a bit more to the energy inside me. It’s making my intuition stronger, building my confidence + self-love, and helping me to spot connections in the universe I might have otherwise missed. I know this isn’t for everyone, but for me, I like seeing what pops up and what emotions + learnings I can take from each step.

Shopping.

I can’t believe that Christmas is only 6 weeks away! I hate crazed, last-minute shopping – so I try to complete my gift shopping by the end of November. That gives me time to be thoughtful and intentional about finding the right gift for the receiver and helps me to stay on budget by avoiding a tight deadline.

Get social. IRL.

For most of the fall, my social life has revolved around some kid activity. Birthday parties, school carnivals, playdates. I’m looking forward to the natural social life that comes built in around the holidays. Connecting with new + old friends, some adult-only parties and a few girls night outs are on my agenda…

What’s on your list for November?
